This small bird is found in Japan throughout the year. Males have a beautiful blue colour. They are friendly birds and are found in the forests from spring to summer, but in winter, when the mountains are covered with snow, they come down from the mountains and can sometimes be seen in the city.
 
１年を通して日本に生息する小鳥です。オスは美しい青色をしています。人懐こい鳥で、春から夏にかけては森の中にいますが、冬になって山に雪が降ると山から下りてきて、街中でも見る事ができる時もあります。
